The theme of this session is "Biomedical Composites for the Quality of Life", which aims to carry out extensive exchanges and discussions on the latest trends and achievements in the field of biomedical composites, medical product development and industrialization, so as to enhance the understanding, exchange and cooperation among colleagues in this field.

Prof. Jian Shen

Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University

Jian Shen is the professor of Nanjing University and Nanjing Normal University. He is the director of the National and Local Joint Engineering Center of Biomedical Functional Materials, Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Biomedical Functional Materials, Jiangsu Joint Laboratory of International Cooperation of Biomedical Functional Materials and Jiangsu Interface Chemical Engineering Technology Research Center. He engaged in the research of interface chemistry and biomedical composites, published 453 papers and 4 monographs; 12613 citations in total; 64 Chinese invention patents, 8 Chinese software copyrights and 1 American invention patent are authorized; Won 16 national science and technology awards and teaching achievement awards; Served as chairman and presided over 35 international academic conferences in related disciplines.


 


Professor Yizao Wan

East China Jiaotong University

Prof. & Dr. Yizao Wan is the director of Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Nanomaterials. Currently, he is the standing member of the Chinese Society for Composite Materials and the director of its Composite Materials Branch. He has served as the standing member of the Chinese Society of Composites and the director of its Biomedical Composites Branch. He is the associate editor of the academic journal Biomedical Engineering Advances. He is one of the pioneers in the field of bacterial cellulose based biomaterials in China. He has been nominated the Most Cited Chinese Scholars of 2021. As the first and/or corresponding author, he has published more than 260 SCI papers in journals such as Advanced Functional Materials and ACS Nano. He has patented over 40 inventions and has given more than 20 reports at national and international academic conferences.

 


Professor Yudong Zheng

Science and Technology University of Beijing

Prof. Zheng is the Chief Professor and doctoral supervisor of Biomedical Materials Laboratory, School of Materials Science and Technology University of Beijing. Her research interest is multifunctional biomedical composites. Presided over and completed more than 30 national, provincial and industry-university-research projects. She has published more than 130 high-level SCI papers, many of which are highly cited, and obtained more than 30 national invention patents. Many research achievements have achieved industrialization and clinical application. Currently, she is Fellow of International Biomaterial Federation, Executive Director of Chinese Biomaterial Society and vice chairman of Biomaterial Branch of Chinese Biomaterial Society, and Council member of China Composite Material Society, Council member of China Composite Material Society, Vice chairman of the branch of Biological composite material Society, etc.


 

 

Prof. Shibin Wang

Huaqiao University

Prof. Shibin Wang currently works as Dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Huaqiao University. His research interests include biomaterials and advanced manufacturing technologies. Currently, he also serves as the Director of Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Biochemical Technology, Council member of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering, Vice-Chairman of the Bio-composites Branch of the Chinese Society of Biomaterials, Vice Chairman of the Biocomposites Society Branch of the Chinese Society of Composite Materials, and Vice President of Fujian Chemical Engineering Society. He has obtained numerous outstanding honors in teaching and research, including the Fujian Provincial Teaching Achievement Award, the Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, and the Fujian Provincial Outstanding Teacher award.

 


Prof. Yin Xiao

Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology

Prof. Yin Xiao is a Distinguished Professor in Dentistry, Oral Health, and Medicine at Griffith University and a Professor in Medical Engineering at Queensland University of Technology. He was a dental specialist (BDSc 1986 and MDSc 1991 from Wuhan University) and started his academic career in 2000 (Ph.D. from the University of Queensland). He is the Founder and the Director of the Australia-China Centre for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (ACCTERM), established in 2013, and the Joint Research Centre of functional biomaterials for tissue and organ replacement. His work has predominantly focused on bone, biomaterials, stem cells, dentistry, and tissue engineering. He has authored more than 340 journal papers, three books, and 23 book chapters. His H index is 73, and his work has been cited more than 20,000 times.
